NATIONAL Season of Peace Conference: October 17-18, 2016
Teaching city leaders to work on the streets to build relationships and create peace
This year’s conference seeks to teach local leaders to engage at the street-level youth at highest risk to violence in order to build neighborhood-based ceasefires within their city. The model is based on the work of Rev. Jeffrey Brown, an architect of the “Boston Miracle” who has for over 25 years worked in cities across the nation in reducing youth violence and building trust between communities and law enforcement.

There have been several new gang truces and ceasefires happening across the country in the past few months – in places such as Raleigh-Durham, NC; Macon, GA and Indianapolis, IN. Highlighted speakers will be Rev. Jeffrey Brown, fmr. Police Commissioner Ed Davis, and front-line street outreach workers and practitioners.
The conference will take place at the Crowne Plaza Boston – Newton – www.crowneplazanewton.
